Thank You and U Rock Cards

Tonight, the kids come back from their 6-day trip with my parents to Washington DC. While I enjoyed the peace and lack of activity, I miss them and can't wait to see them. This weekend I started the very daunting task of cleaning out the office closet and reorganizing my craft supplies. I started with the cardstock and printed paper. Then moved to inks and embellishments. I got about half way done and will continue working on it as I can. I organized all my card stock by color groups (blues, reds, greens, etc.) and sorted through the scraps into the same groups in stackable boxes and. I had tons of scraps loitering all over the place. Every time I would finish a project, I'd stash the scraps where ever and now I have tried to group them all together. Judging by the amount of scraps I have, I shouldn't have to cut into a fresh piece of cardstock for a while. After sorting through the cardstock and papers, I was playing around with a few pieces and made these 2 cards last night.

I had the silver "thank you" sticker in the stash of embellishments that I came across in one of my bins and had the CB embossed background on the silver scrap so I tried to incorporate them into a card. I added the red because I didn't like the look of just the black and silver. The punches were also from previous projects that I incorporated onto the card.

For the guitar U Rock card, I just was thinking about a thank you card for the kids to give my mom and dad to thank them for the trip and was trying to come up with something on the young side. I think my parents rock for taking the kids on the trip so that is why I chose that sentiment. I guess Carrie and Steven could use the black and silver one if they want or they each can chose to use one.

way to go with the organization and using up items from previous projects. I am trying to do the same thing. Love the black and silver card, it looks great with the pop of additional color.

Great cards, Cindy, and great use of your scraps. I have large, zip-loc bags that I group my scraps in, although mine are according to each SU category, and beyond that labeled by the Vendor (which right now is Papertrey.) If I'm good about putting them away, it really does save me time and cutting into new sheets of CS. The cards are adorable. Good for you on the cards and the organizing.
